Solitaire,
can offer full 24 Bit CD mastering
Mastering
is the process in which the finished pieces are made ready for CD duplication.
The final mixes are taken and put into a running order. The preferred
gaps are placed between each of the pieces.
If needed, the mixes can be treated in various ways. They can be equalised,
compressed, edited etc.
Then the level (volume) of each piece is made even.
The final product is then burnt to a CD which is sent to the plant for
duplication.
At Solitaire, all recordings are made and mastered in 24 bit technology.
Then the final process is called Dithering. This is where the 24 bit recording
is changed to 16 bit for CD Compatibility. By keeping everything 24 bit
until the last stage, the quality of the recording, remains much higher.
